How a government marker reaches a Utah cemetery
VA's National Cemetery Administration lists 2 cemeteries in Utah: 1 open for new burials, 0 open for cremated remains only and 1 with no new gravesites (closed). VA also lists 1 grant-funded state or tribal veterans cemetery in Utah.
For a non-national cemetery in Utah, VA delivers a government headstone or marker directly to the cemetery where the grave is located, or to a receiving agent for delivery to the cemetery.

VA does not pay the costs of installing that headstone or marker in a non-national cemetery.

In national, state veterans and military post or base cemeteries, cemetery officials order the headstone or marker from inscription details given by the next of kin.

“They handled everything with our mother’s monument — delivery, cemetery coordination, installation and photos afterward. We live in another state, so knowing it was set correctly and respectfully meant the world to us.”
