Deep Cleaning in Colorado

Deep Cleaning across Colorado, coordinated from first call to final photo

Routine dirt, mold and biological growth are removed with safe, cemetery-approved deep cleaning for granite and bronze — no harsh pressure washing that could damage the stone. Deep cleaning restores a bright, cared-for appearance; structural resetting and heavy refinishing are handled by our repair and restoration services. Every clean comes with before-and-after photos.

Across Colorado, deep cleaning is delivered through our West network, so you get one clear point of contact and a crew coordinated to your cemetery — with nearby hubs in California, Washington supporting scheduling across the region.

We work with monuments purchased from any retailer — not just our own family of brands — and every visit in Colorado is documented with photos so distant families can see the work was done correctly and respectfully.

Colorado cemetery facts

VA cleaning rules for government markers in Colorado

VA's National Cemetery Administration lists 3 cemeteries in Colorado: 3 open for new burials, 0 open for cremated remains only and 0 with no new gravesites (closed). VA also lists 1 grant-funded state or tribal veterans cemetery in Colorado.

  • The goal of cleaning is to remove air pollution soiling, lichen, bird droppings, dirt, salts and sap. It is not to make the headstone or marker look “like new.”

  • VA prohibits the general public from power washing government-furnished headstones and markers because of the damage it may cause to historical headstones.

  • Improper or unnecessary cleaning can speed up the deterioration of marble and granite.

Cleaning visits should respect each cemetery’s monuments, decorations and schedule. Here is what VA publishes for Pikes Peak National Cemetery.

Pikes Peak National Cemetery

Decoration calendar

March 15 to Thanksgiving: Flowers will be removed every Wednesday for mowing and maintenance, when they become unsightly, or if damaged by weather or wildlife.

Thanksgiving to March 15: Floral items in good condition may remain in place.

Thanksgiving through January 15: Wreaths (no larger than 18 inches in diameter) and gravesite blankets (no larger than 2 feet by 3 feet) may be placed on gravesites.

Floral and grounds rules

Items left at the gravesite must be floral in nature (except as noted) and may not stand taller than the headstone or encroach upon niche covers.

Prohibited conduct: No altering a headstone or niche cover in any manner.

Our cemetery floral regulations exist only to reflect the honor and respect we hold for our Nation's Veterans by preserving the dignity and solemnity of their final resting place.

History

In the spring of 2015, VA awarded AES Group, a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business architecture and engineering firm from Parker, Colorado, a contract to design the cemetery.

The VA awarded a contract for construction of the cemetery in October 2017.

The initial phase of construction will develop approximately 65 acres and provide for approximately 13,300 gravesites, accommodating both casketed and cremated remains.

What families say

Trusted by families and funeral homes across the country

“They handled everything with our mother’s monument — delivery, cemetery coordination, installation and photos afterward. We live in another state, so knowing it was set correctly and respectfully meant the world to us.”

Linda M.

Family, out-of-state

“The deep cleaning and leveling completely transformed the family plot. The before-and-after photos were incredible, and now the stone looks like it did when it was first installed. We’re very grateful for the care they showed.”

Emily R.

Family

“We added dates and a portrait to an existing monument through their engraving team. Everything matched perfectly and was done right at the cemetery. Communication was clear from start to finish.”
